Panini signs LSU star Angel Reese to trading card, memorabilia deal
A few weeks after signing college basketball legend Caitlin Clark to an exclusive trading card and memorabilia deal, Panini has inked another women’s basketball star.
Panini America announced Tuesday an exclusive deal with LSU star and WNBA prospect Angel Reese for autographed trading cards and memorabilia.
The multi-year agreement will include a variety of products featuring Reese, who recently declared for this year’s WNBA Draft.
Panini released a special Panini Instant card Tuesday commemorating the announcement.
The first product for collectors is expected to be her Panini Instant WNBA Draft Night trading card. Reese also will be featured in Panini’s collegiate and WNBA products, including WNBA Origins in August, followed by WNBA Select Basketball and WNBA Prizm. Fans will be able to purchase Reese’s exclusive autograph memorabilia at paniniamerica.net.
Reese led LSU to its first-ever NCAA women’s basketball national championship in 2023 and was named the Most Outstanding Player of the NCAA Tournament. The 6-3 Reese led the Tigers in scoring and rebounding this season and finished her college career as the 2024 SEC Player of the Year.
Clark and Reese developed a rivalry that grabbed national headlines during the 2023 NCAA national championship game. Clark got revenge during this year’s tournament, leading the Iowa Hawkeyes over LSU in the Elite Eight to advance to the Final Four. Clark and Iowa lost to No. 1 South Carolina in this year’s national championship game.
Clark has also declared for the WNBA draft and is expected to be the No. 1 pick. Reese is projected as a top-10 pick.
“Angel is an outstanding talent and an electric player, and we are excited to welcome her to the Panini family as an exclusive athlete,” said Jason Howarth, senior vice president of marketing and athlete relations for Panini. “We look forward to offering her fans Angel’s trading cards and memorabilia.”
“I’m excited to join Panini as an exclusive athlete for autograph trading cards and memorabilia,” Reese said in a Panini release. “As a little girl growing up you always dream of playing basketball and getting your first trading card. I can’t wait for fans everywhere to be able to start collecting my Panini cards.”
