Three of the most iconic sports cards in the hobby headline a special exhibit at the Boston 2026 World Expo.

The exhibit by Kelleher Auctions, which will be on display at the Boston Convention and Exposition Center from May 23-30, features $20 million in historic cards, memorabilia and collectibles.

Headlining the exhibit is a PSA 7 example of the iconic 1916 M101-5 Sporting News #151 Babe Ruth rookie card. The exhibit will also include early cards of Hall of Famers Ty Cobb and Lou Gehrig.

“Issued during the infancy of Ruth's major league career, the M101-5 series predates his emergence as baseball's greatest power hitter and instead portrays him as the young Red Sox pitcher who would soon change the sport forever,” said David Coogle, co-chairman of Kelleher Auctions. “The image of Ruth in his pitching follow-through remains one of the hobby's most historically significant and visually recognizable rookie-era depictions.”

The Danbury, CT-based company, which was founded in 1885 in Boston as a stamp auction company, offers sports collectibles, rare coins, bank notes, and other historic memorabilia.

“This unique display in Boston will help attract visitors to trading cards and showcase our expansion of private treaty consignments and sales of other collectibles,” Coogle said.

Also featured is Gehrig’s rare 1925 Exhibits card of with a PSA 5 grade.

“It is one of the earliest and most desirable Gehrig cards ever issued,” Coogle said. “It notably features him under his original ‘Henry L. Gehrig’ designation, adding an extra layer of historical significance to this already iconic issue. The striking black-and-white full-body image captures the future Hall of Famer in classic batting pose during the early stages of what would become one of baseball's most storied careers.”

The Ty Cobb tobacco card is a 1909-1911 T206 Sweet Caporal 350/30 Portrait Red with a PSA 8 grade.

“This is one of the most iconic and visually striking cards from the famed T206 White Border series,” Coogle said. “Featuring Cobb against a vivid red background, this classic portrait issue is widely regarded as one of the premier prewar baseball cards ever produced.”

The three iconic sports card anchor an exhibit filled with historic collectibles, including: five misprinted 1918 Inverted Jenny postage stamps depicting an upside-down World War 1-era airplane; the all-time finest set of Walking Liberty silver half dollars 1916-1947; and a letter written in 1876 to a soldier killed at Custer’s Last Stand and returned with the notation, “Killed In Battle/on Little Big Horn River/June 25th 76.”
