Demand for graded Caitlin Clark cards continues to soar
Caitlin Clark’s dynamic scoring and thrilling overall play has helped put women’s college basketball on the map in the last two years.
And college basketball’s all-time leading scorer (for men and women) just keeps on turning heads and setting records. After her last two games, Clark is now the only player in women’s college basketball to score more than 40 points in three NCAA Tournament games. She also now owns the highest scoring average (28.47) in NCAA women’s basketball history.
As she leads her Iowa Hawkeyes into the Women's Final Four for the second straight year, card collectors are also taking notice.
Topps has released several Clark cards through it's Bowman brand in the last two years, while card rival Panini recently signed Clark to an exclusive card and memorabilia deal.
In March, the number of Caitlin Clark cards graded by card-grading giant PSA rose by more than 12,000 percent since her first trading cards were released in May 2023. Card submissions are a big indicator of both value and buzz, and PSA grades more than 70 percent of all cards submitted in the U.S.
According to PSA, there were 34 Clark cards graded in May of 2023 and 150 graded in June 2023. By December, that number had risen to 840 cards graded. The numbers continued to soar in 2024, with 1,943 cards graded in February and 4,209 graded last month.
Here's a look at the top five Clark cards graded by PSA:
Clark’s 2022 Bowman U card, which bears the Bowman 1st label, is her most significant card since it was her first card distributed by a major card manufacturer.
