Oakland A’s rookie Jacob Wilson made a big impact on the field and the card market this season. We take a look at some of his top rookie cards.

If the name of Oakland Athletics rookie shortstop Jacob Wilson rings a bell, it should because his father, Jack, played nearly a decade and a half in the big leagues, earning an All-Star nod and Silver Slugger award.

The younger Wilson made a brief appearance for Oakland last year, playing in only 28 games and recording less than 100 at-bats.

From Opening Day this season, he became a force in Oakland. The free-swinging shortstop has been among the league leaders in batting average all season and registered an All-Star appearance of his own in his first full MLB season, much earlier in his career than his pops.

The duo tugged at the heartstrings of family and fans over the weekend as they reversed Jacob's childhood first pitch as his father threw the ceremonial pitch to the A's star in a return to Pittsburgh.

Wilson was widely regarded as one of the brightest prospects going into the 2023 MLB Draft and was promptly snapped up by Oakland with the sixth overall pick. Even after missing some time due to injury, Wilson is still among the rookie league leaders in many offensive categories.

There are a handful of high-end rookie card options for the second-generation star. A selective eye runs in the family, and we try to hold true to the tradition with our curated short list.

Quite possibly, the best Wilson rookie card on the market is his 2025 Topps Tier One Rookie Patch Auto numbered 1-of-1.

This gorgeous horizontal card has a sticker auto of Wilson, with three thick, bright multicolored jersey swatches. The beautiful, bold Tier One design perfectly accents this undeniable card. Currently available on eBay with an astronomical asking price of $25,000, we are thinking you could probably grab it with a best offer well below that number.

In Series 2, Topps really stepped up its game with this Major League Materials Wilson RPA. Reminiscent of the quality and eye appeal of an early 2000 Upper Deck SP Authentic football product, this card screams high-end.

Although there is a sticker auto, the beautiful patch is framed nicely with a sharp image of Wilson and a cool, sleek overall design. The current eBay asking price on this beauty numbered to /5 (a rare jersey number match) is $1,500, but we're thinking you could get it closer to $800, as there are confirmed sales in that territory.

I've been to a number of business meetings and conferences in my day, but I've never left with anything nearly as cool as this 2025 Topps Industry Conference Jacob Wilson Gold Autograph numbered to /15.

With a matching photo and a design similar to his Topps rookie card, this Gold Industry Conference special puts a minor twist on the classic Topps design. This bad boy is also numbered to Wilson's jersey number #5 of 15 total copies. Graded a PSA 10, the current asking price on eBay is $1,200.

In an insert set that perfectly describes the player featured, we add this eye-catching 2025 Topps Chrome Radiating Rookies Autograph of Wilson to our shortstop's shortlist. This particular copy is numbered /25 and has already slabbed a PSA 10. It recently sold on the PSA eBay account for $2,000.

The last card on our shortlist is one worthy of framing as we head over to the 2025 Bob Ross Topps Joy of Baseball collection. In honor of the iconic painter, we add this yellow autograph #1/25 of Wilson to our easel.

The artist of many happy little hits this year, Wilson's rookie year is full of bright spots and deep, rich colors, and a sunny future, much like this card.

Lucky for collectors, there are Wilson rookie cards as cheap as a dollar and incredibly rare high-end copies worth tens of thousands of dollars. There's room for everyone, so add Wilson to your lineup as you see fit.
