While the trading card market fluctuates, historic game-used memorabilia continues to maintain strong value among sports collectors.

Grey Flannel Auctions has a host of historically significant game-used artifacts across all sports in its Summer Games Auction Catalog, which opens May 24 and culminates with a live auction on June 14.

The auction includes such pieces as a 1941 Jimmie Foxx Boston Red Sox game-used flannel jersey; a 1954-55 Mickey Mantle New York Yankees fielder’s glove; a 1940s Joe DiMaggio glove; and multiple Michael Jordan items, including a pair of 1966 game-used, autographed “Concord” Air Jordan XI sneakers.

Foxx’s 1941 Red Sox jersey (SGC Superior) comes directly from a team affiliate equipment manager and is believed to be the earliest and most significant Foxx team uniform to surface.

There are a pair of Mantle gloves up for bid. The 1954–55 glove came from Yankees bat boy Joe Carrieri and is considered among the earliest documented Mantle gloves to enter the hobby. There is also a circa 1967 game-used first baseman’s glove from the Maury Allen Collection.

DiMaggio’s late-1940s glove comes with a signed DiMaggio letter of authenticity.

Jordan’s signed 1996 “Concord” Air Jordan XI shoes, photo-matched to a 35-point performance during the Bulls 72-10 season, headlines a collection of historic Jordan memorabilia. Also featured are a pair of 1992 game-worn and autographed Air Jordan VII shoes from a 46-point game on Jordan’s birthday, and 1984–85 game-used jersey from his rookie season.

“This catalog is a true reflection of the strength and maturity of the game-used market,” said Michael Russek, director of operations at Grey Flannel Auctions. “We continue to see strong demand for authenticated photo-matched material with elite provenance. This auction brings together a cross-section of historically significant artifacts and modern icons—pieces that define collections and rarely surface at this level.”

Other auction highlights include:

• 1984 Mike Bossy NY Islanders Stanley Cup Finals game-worn and autographed jersey from multiple games.

• 2002 Shaquille O'Neal LA Lakers NBA Finals “three-peat” player-worn shooting shirt from the championship-clinching game.

• 2025-26 Kon Knueppel Charlotte Hornets game-worn and autographed rookie jersey.

• 2010 Kobe Bryant game-worn and autographed playoff shoes from a 40-point postseason performance in his final championship run.
