Willie Mays, Shoeless Joe Jackson, Michael Jordan cards top six figures in Mile High auction
Two of the most iconic and classic baseball cards in the hobby topped six figures in the September Auction at Mile High Card Company.
A 1952 Bowman Willie Mays (PSA 9) sold for $231,747, while a 1909-11 American Caramel Co. E90-1 Joe Jackson card (SGC 5.5) attracted heavy bidding and closed at $292,586.

Other top sales included one of the most sought-after Michael Jordan cards, a 1998 Fleer Tradition #9 Jordan Playmakers Theatre (PSA 8), setting a record at $109,518.
Jordan Star material also reached new heights with a 1984-85 Star Jordan card (GAI 8.5) that went for $52,993, along with a 1984-85 Star Basketball Olympics/Special Team Bag card (GAI 8.5) for $54,333.
Other record sales included a pair of 1909-13 Sporting News Supplements: a M101-2 Honus Wagner (PSA 3, one of two with none graded higher) for $42,146; and a Ty Cobb/Honus Wagner (PSA 3.5, none graded higher) selling for $63,872.

Mile High Also broke up a complete set of high-grade 1956 Topps set that ranks #14 the PSA Set Registry (8.04 GPA) for a total of $149,210. A 1957 Topps Football complete set (#4) sold for a total of $90,338, while a 1950 Bowman Football set brought in $34,668 and 1957 Topps Football set totaled $90,338.
Top-selling game-used memorabilia included a 1983-88 Wayne Gretzky Edmonton Oilers road jersey for $40,163; a 1918-1924 Babe Ruth single-signed baseball for $42,693; a 1929 Babe Ruth single-signed home run #515 or #516 ball for $50,166; a 2003 Barry Bonds signed and inscribed game-used bat from home runs #628, #629, #630 and #631 for $74,122; and a 1971 Hank Aaron game-used bat for $32,762.
