Willie Mays 1963-64 Gold Gloves up for bid in Part II of Mays auction
Baseball Hall of Famer Willie Mays hit 660 home runs and drove in 1,906 runs, but one of the greatest players of all time was perhaps best known for his amazing defense.
Mays won 12 Gold Gloves while playing center field for the New York and San Francisco Giants.
Two of those Gold Gloves are up for bid in Part II of the Willie Mays Collection being auctioned by Hunt Auctions.
Headlining Part II of the auction is Mays’ 1963 and 1964 Gold Gloves. Both have an estimated value of $25,000-$50,000.

After his Hall of Fame career, Mays returned to the Giants as a team ambassador and Special Assistant to the President. Also up for bid are his 2002 San Francisco Giants NL Championship ring and his 2010 and 2012 World Series rings.
Also available are Mays’ Hall of Fame lapel pin and an autographed and inscribed photo of Mays and former President Barack Obama.
The January Premier Auction at Hunt Auctions also features Part II of the Dr. G.B. Espy Collection, which includes a Babe Ruth professional model bat; a Ruth autographed Christmas card; a Ruth and Lou Gehrig autographed baseball; 1911 “Smoky” Joe Wood Philadelphia Athletic presentational medallion; and a 1939 ticket stub from Gehrig’s final game of his record games played streak.
Other highlights from private collections include a signed program from Michael Jordan’s Dixie Youth Baseball career, and an autographed 1952 Topps Willie Mays card.
