Wemby or Wilt? Chamberlain rookie card headlines Huggins & Scott auction
The NBA Conference Finals will feature one of the best big men in the league in Victor Wembanyama, who is emerging as one of the greatest centers of all time.
The 7-4 Wemby is already drawing comparisons to such elite centers as Kareem-Abdul Jabbar, Wilt Chamberlain and Bill Russell.
Wemby’s playoff performance reminds many of Chamberlain, a four-time MVP who led the 1967 Sixers and 1972 Lakers to the NBA championship. Wilt averaged 30 points, 22 rebounds and 5.4 blocked shots per game throughout his Hall of Fame career.
And, like Wemby, he is a hobby star among card collectors. His 1961-62 Fleer rookie card is one of the most coveted vintage basketball cards on the market.
Huggins & Scott Auctions has a 1961-1962 Fleer Basketball #8 Wilt Chamberlain Rookie, graded PSA 8, up for bid in its Spring Auction, which opened May 14.
