Topps to launch new NFL license with release of 2025 Topps Chrome Football
Topps announced its long-awaited return to NFL football cards Thursday, unveiling an exclusive, multi-year deal with the NFL and NFL Players Association.
Topps will celebrate the new deal with the launch of 2025 Topps Chrome Football on April 15. Hobby boxes will retail for $360 and will be available for preorder on April 3.

Topps’ NFL return will feature new Topps Rookie PREM1ERE Patch Autograph Cards. Similar to the MLB and NBA debut patch cards, the PREM1ERE Patch Cards include a one-of-a-kind patches worn by players in their first regular-season game. The patch, worn on the right chest and featuring “PREM1ERE” and the player’s rookie class year, will be removed, authenticated, and inserted into a 1/1 Topps Rookie PREM1ERE Patch Autograph card. The inaugural checklist includes members of the 2025 rookie class such as Jaxson Dart, Cam Skattebo, and Cam Ward.
Another highlight is NFL Honors Gold Shield Autograph cards, which feature game-worn gold shield patches from 2024 AP award winners, taken from the base of the jersey collar and embedded into 1/1 autograph cards. The first set features Josh Allen (MVP), Saquon Barkley (Offensive Player of the Year), Patrick Surtain ll (Defensive Player of the Year), Jayden Daniels (Offensive Rookie of the Year), and Jared Verse (Defensive Rookie of the Year).
Topps will be handing out free packs and hosting live pack rips during the 2026 NFL Draft in Pittsburgh on April 25.
