Tom Brady collectors play long game with his skyrocketing cards

Tom Brady cards continue to soar in value, giving collectors a lot of options for collecting the NFL legend.

No athlete who played out in the 21st century—and very few in the 20th century—have corralled collectors as convincingly as Tom Brady.

The seven-time Super Bowl winner has become the face of the football hobby. The Babe Ruths, Mickey Mantles and Michael Jordans of the world have squeezed a little closer together in the hobby’s upper echelon in order to make room for Brady.

It shouldn’t be surprising. As the 20th century marched to a close, Johnny Unitas and then Fran Tarkenton owned most of the NFL’s key passing records. But those marks came tumbling down as a succession of new-era passers began lighting up gridirons. Dan Marino. Brett Favre. Peyton Manning. Drew Brees. And, finally, Brady. He retired with all-time records for touchdown passes (649), attempts (12,050), completions (7,753), yards (89,215), fourth-quarter comebacks (46), game-winning drives (58), and more. Whew!

Now, as our newest Top 10 chart below reflects, Brady’s most hotly pursued cards continue skyrocketing to out-of-sight prices. Four Brady items take up residence on our monthly Top 10 of eBay sales in February 2026—all four having climbed past $50,000. They represent the tip of the iceberg. Beyond these highlights, there’s a seemingly endless number of Brady card sales.

In the first two months of 2026, we tracked the following prices paid for high-flying Brady listings, each one propelled by dozens of bids:

• $48,600 on 67 bids for a 2000 Playoff Contenders signed Rookie Ticket card graded BGS 9. (This one charted at No. 6 in last month’s Top 10 chart.)

• $39,488 on 106 bids for a 2000 Bowman Chrome Refractor graded BGS 9. (This one also appeared on our chart last time, taking up the No. 10 spot.)

• $36,950 on 29 bids for another signed Playoff Contenders Rookie Ticket slabbed PSA 8.

• $35,855 on 86 bids for a 2000 Bowman Chrome Refractor graded PSA 8.

• $25,256 on 48 bids for a signed 2017 Panini Contenders Optic “2000 Tribute Rookie Ticket” graded BGS 9.5.

• $24,686 on 43 bids for a 2019 Panini National Treasures autographed patch card graded BGS 8.5.

• $20,100 on 64 bids for a 2017 Panini Flawless Platinum card—a #1/1 graded BGS 9.5.

And these items reflect auctions only. Open your filter to include Buy It Now deals and you'll find dozens of other five-figure sales—and even a six-figure success. The latter price: $112,999 for a signed 2000 Playoff Contenders Rookie Ticket card graded BGS 9.5.

Another Buy It Now collector dropped $42,000 on a 2002 Topps Super Bowl XXXVI MVP Brady-autographed relic card. Marked #105/150, it boasted a grade of BGS 9.

Still another Buy It Now collector paid $25,000 for a signed 2000 Fleer Prospect Showcase card marked #1977/2000 and graded BGS 8.5.

As hefty as current prices are, the high-water point for Brady cards came during the height of the COVID years. In 2021, Leland’s enjoyed a $3.107 million payday for a Playoff Contenders Championship Rookie Ticket card graded BGS 9. It beat the previous record—set a few months earlier—of $2.25 million for a BGS 8.5 example of the same card. The same year, Heritage Auctions got $1.59 million for a Championship Rookie Ticket graded BGS 8.5.

The “Championship” variation of Brady’s Playoff Contenders Rookie Ticket card, we should note, was produced in an edition of just 100. As the seven-figure sales attest, that rarity ranks as the holy-grail Brady card.

BRADY BARGAIN BIN

What if you want to build a Tom Brady collection without spending four-and five-figure sums? It can be done—easily. Some 20,000 Brady items have auctioned on eBay in the past 90 days, and the majority have sold for $100 or less. Here’s a look at 10 examples of Brady bargains:

• $100 on 10 bids for a PSA 10 2004 Topps Collection base card graded PSA 10.

• $100 on 21 bids for a 2006 Topps Turkey Red patch card bearing a piece of Brady’s game-worn Pro Bowl jersey. This ungraded card was marked #183/199.

• $100 on one bid for a 2011 Topps Prime card graded PSA 10 and featuring Brady captured in game action wearing a throwback red Patriots jersey.

• $99 on nine bids for Brady’s 2002 Topps card—notable because it was his first appearance on a Topps brand card.

• $99 on 28 bids for an ungraded 2009 Panini Prestige Prestigious Pros jersey card marked #91/250.

• $97 on 20 bids for an SGC 7 2000 Score base card of Brady pictured during his college days.

• $96 on 21 bids for a 2000 Skybox Impact rookie card capturing Brady in a collegiate action shot at Michigan.

• $96 on 24 bids for a 2002 Pacific Crown Royale Sunday Soldiers card graded PSA 9.

• $94 on 26 bids for a 2000 Pacific rookie card graded PSA 7, still another showing Brady in his No. 10 jersey at Michigan.

We could rattle off hundreds of other examples of worthy and collectible Brady cards selling for less than $75, or less than $50, or less than $25, but that are worth consideration. No, you won’t find manufacturer-issued autographed examples, but you also won’t be outbid by high-rolling speculators.

So don’t let the haywire pricing of high-end Brady cards deter you. Find a theme within his vast array of memorabilia and go after it, whether it’s a run of his base cards, reasonably priced inserts or cards from his Super Bowl seasons.
