MLB superstar Shohei Ohtani just keeps going deep, setting record after record with his otherworldly power and skill and his international appeal.

Ohtani set another record on the sports card market Thursday when his 2025 Topps Shohei Ohtani 1/1 Gold Logoman Autograph card sold for $3 million, attracting 69 bids in a late-night bidding war in the Fanatics Collect December Premier Auction.

The Gold Logoman patch was worn by Ohtani on April 29, 2025 when the Dodgers played the Miami Marlins. Ohtani went 1-4 with a home run, his seventh of the season. He finished the 2025 season with 55 home runs and 102 RBI to win his fourth MVP and lead the Dodgers to their second straight World Series championship.

The sale is the highest public sale of an Ohtani card of all time and the highest selling modern baseball card of the last five years. It is also the top-selling card ever in a Fanatics Collect auction, surpassing the 1933 Goudey Babe Ruth card that sold for $1.63 million last year.

The auction also produced a record for the highest selling Cooper Flagg rookie card, with his 1/1 2025 Topps Chrome Silver Pack '80 Superfractor Rookie Auto selling for $180,000. The sale surpasses Flagg’s 2024-25 Bowman Chrome U Autographs SuperFractor #16, which sold for $97,600.

Fanatics’ December Premier Auction generated $14.2 million in sales.
