Cards of those historic athletes all set records in Goldin’s August Elite Auction, which closed on Sept. 6.
A Shohei Ohtani 2018 Topps Finest Autographs rookie card led the way, selling for $585,600, an all-time high for any Topps Finest Ohtani card.

Messi’s 2015-16 Panini Select Striped Jersey Black Prizm #1/1 card (PSA 9) sold for $427,000, a record for any Panini Select Messi card.
Kobe’s 2003-04 Upper Deck Ultimate Collection Ultimate Signatures Gold #8/8 signed Jersey Number card sold for $219,600, a record for the card.
NBA great Michael Jordan also had a record item in the auction with a 1988 signed Foul-Line Dunk Type I Original Photo by Bulls Photographer Bill Smith sold for $202,520, a record for any public sale of a Jordan photo.
Other notable sales include a Lebron James 2007-08 Upper Deck SP game-used Logoman Patch Game-Used Patch Card (#1/1) for $146,400; and a Tiger Woods 2001 Upper Deck Golf #1 Tiger Woods signed card for $103,700.
Other records set in the auction include:
• Lebron James 2005-06 Upper Deck Exquisite Collection Limited Logos signed game-used patch card (#08/50) for $97,600, a card record.
• Lamine Yamal 2023-24 Topps Chrome UEFA Club Competitions Autographs Red Refractor signed Rookie card (#5/5) for a record $85,400.
• Lamine Yamal 2023-24 Panini Donruss FIFA Kaboom! Gold #7 Rookie card (#10/10) Jersey Number (PSA 10) sold for $79,300.
• Jude Bellingham 2020-21 Topps Chrome UCL SP SuperFractor #68 Rookie card (#1/1) for $59,780.
• Derek Jeter 1998 Skybox Metal Universe Precious Metal Gems (PMG) #199 (#25/50) for $68,320.
• Cal Raleigh 2022 Topps Chrome Rookie Autograph SuperFractor Rookie card (#1/1) for $63,440.
• Kobe Bryant/Michael Jordan 2002-03 Upper Deck Game Jersey Autographed Combo #MJ/KB-C dual-signed game-used Relic card (#06/10) for $60,390.
• Amen Thompson 2023-24 Panini Flawless Star Swatch Signatures Blue signed Patch Rookie card for $37,820.
• Marcus Camby 1997-98 SkyBox Metal Universe Precious Metal Gems (PMG) Green for $32,940.
