As the son of a lifelong Baltimore Orioles player, coach and manager, Cal Ripken Jr. grew up in Baltimore as a die-hard Orioles fan.

He was then fortunate enough to play his entire Hall of Fame career with his hometown team.

Now the Orioles legend, one of the greatest shortstops in MLB history, is giving back to Orioles fans and baseball collectors.

Candy Digital, the official digital collectible partner of MLB, has launched a collection of Cal Ripken Jr. digital collectibles showcasing memorabilia and historic events from his legendary 21-year career.

• The official game ball and glove he used to secure the final out of the 1983 World Series.

• Footage of his 2001 home run hit during his 19th and final All-Star Game appearance.

The digital memorabilia is the second collection released by Ripken and Candy Digital. The first was The Cal Ripken Jr. Rookie Collection, which honored his first season in 1982 when he won AL Rookie of the Year. This first collection sold out in less than one minute.

“Continuing this wonderful partnership with Candy Digital is a unique and fun way to connect with other baseball fans and share some of my favorite career moments,” said Ripken Jr., who holds the MLB record with 2,632 consecutive games played. “As a Baltimore area kid, I grew up as a fan of the Orioles and then was lucky enough to spend my entire career with my hometown team. Now thanks to the amazing technology behind digital collectibles, some of the moments I shared in person with fans all those years ago can be shared once again.

“From receiving the MVP Award in 1983 to that home run in 1993 that gave me the most ever homers by a shortstop, these moments can be preserved and shared with fans in a whole new way. The first collection I partnered with Candy Digital on focused on 1982, my rookie season. This newest collection allows me to share more memories from my personal collection. I am excited to relive and rediscover these moments with baseball fans everywhere.”
