Collectors can trade 2023 Topps Chrome cards of MLB MVPs with return of Topps Buyback program

The popular Topps MVP Buyback program returns this year, with collectors able to trade 2023 Topps Chrome cards of the AL and NL MVPs for store credit at 625 participating hobby shops around the country.

The popular Topps MVP Buyback program will return this year, with hobby shops around the country launching the program on Friday, Nov. 17.

Hobby shops will buy back any 2023 Topps Chrome cards featuring 2023 AL MVP Shohei Ohtani and NL MVP Ronald Acuna Jr. Card shops will be offering store credit in exchange for the cards.

Topps debuted a new TV commercial after the MVP announcements on Nov. 16 featuring Acuna and Ohtani. The video features Acuña as he visits local sports card and shops with a surprise twist at the end featuring Ohtani. 

The program will include 625 hobby shops, a 40 percent increase from 2022. The programs runs through March 2024.

HOW TOPPS MVP BUYBACK PROGRAM WORKS

Collectors who own or collect 2023 Topps Chrome cards of the two MVPs can bring those cards to a participating card shop and exchange them for store credit. To see which cards are part of the program and their buyback values, click here.

The Topps MVP Buyback program follows the Sept. 30 Topps Hobby Rip Night, which saw more than 300 hobby shops across 40 states celebrate the hobby with surprise appearances by Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin and star athletes and celebrities, including Tom Brady, Kevin Hart, Travis Scott, Jayson Tatum, Evan Longoria, Corbin Carroll, Drake Maye, Armando Bacot and more.
