1984 Topps Football Rookies highlight REA June auction
The 1983 NFL Draft class is considered one of the greatest in football history, producing such Pro Football Hall of Famers as John Elway, Dan Marino, Jim Kelly, Eric Dickerson and Howie Long.
The rookie cards of those NFL greats wound up in the popular 1984 Topps Football series, which also included such Hall of Fame rookies as Darrell Green, Dwight Stephenson and Joe DeLamielleure and NFL stars Curt Warner and Roger Craig.
A set of 1984 Topps Football Rookies, graded PSA 9, highlights the June Encore Auction at Robert Edward Auctions.
The auction, which opened June 8, features more than 3,700 items ranging from an 1888 Allen & Ginter Boxing card collection that includes Jack Dempsey and John Sullivan to a 2020 Topps Chrome Mike Trout Refractor (SGC 10). All items have a starting bid of $10.
Also highlighting the auction are more than 830 T206 cards; a wide selection of Goudey cards; more than 340 football cards; numerous hockey and basketball cards; memorabilia ranging from the early 1900s to modern stars such as Connor McDavid and LeBron James; and an impressive array of boxing cards from the 19th century through the 1950s.
“We have a great selection of items in our June Auction, ranging from some of the hobby’s longtime staples, such as Cracker Jack and T206 cards, to some incredibly unique boxing and non-sport items for collectors to choose from,” REA President Brian Dwyer said. “We’ve had a tremendous year to date, and I’m excited to watch that continue with the robust offering we have for this event.”
