NEW RELEASES: Topps Chrome Football honors iconic Tecmo Super Bowl game, goes deep with Kaiju monster movie stars
Sports cards have never been more colorful and creative than in the modern era.
That has never been more evident than with the triumph return of Topps Football and the long-awaited release of 2025 Topps Chrome Football set.
Topps’ first licensed football product in a decade features new exclusive autograph signers, two unique patch programs, a nod to nostalgia, and some wild, new inserts and parallels bursting with color.
The 2025 Topps Chrome set pays tribute to the iconic Tecmo Super Bowl video game, while also offering a bow to Japanese monster movie posters with a Kaiju insert that features NFL stars towering over their own cities.

The new Topps Chrome set, which hit retail stores April 15, features autographs from nearly 300 athletes.
Topps has signed several new, young stars as exclusive autograph signers, including Cam Ward, Jackson Dart, Emeka Egbuka, and Luther Burden III.
They join a host of Topps exclusive athletes that will have their first licensed autographs in Topps Chrome products, including Drake Maye, Jayden Daniels, Bo Nix, Caleb Williams, and CJ Stroud.
Other exclusive Topps signers include NFL MVP Matt Stafford and NFL legends Tom Brady, Jerry Rice, Barry Sanders, and Emmitt Smith.
The set features two new patch auto inserts that are sure to spark the interest of collectors. The Rookie PREM1ERE Patch Autographs cards feature patches worn by players the first time they suited up for a regular-season NFL game.
The NFL Honors Gold Shield Autograph cards include Gold Shields worn in games by the 2024 award winners. The 2025 Gold Shield players include Josh Allen (2024 MVP), Saquon Barkley (Offensive Player of the Year), Patrick Surtain II (Defensive Player of the Year), Jayden Daniels (Offensive Rookie of the Year), and Jared Verse (Defensive Rookie of the Year).
Fanatics Collectibles CEO Mike Mahan says Topps will continue to produce products with game-used memorabilia.
“Next season we are going to have more game-used product than in any product in the history of the NFL,” Mahan said at the Topps Industry Conference.
The Tecmo Super Bowl cards include 13 legends and 10 current stars in a tribute to the iconic video game featuring pixel-based designs, touchdown screen visuals and unique autograph variations.
The 10-card Kaiju insert features Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Jalen Hurts, and more.
Other fan-favorite inserts include Helix, Ultra Violet, Radiating Rookies, and Fanatical. They are joined by such bold football debuts as Game Genies.
2025 Topps Chrome Football packs contains four cards, including three base cards and one Rookie. Each box contains 20 Rookies, six base Refractor parallels, three Rookie Refractor parallels, four base or Rookie Prism or Neon Pulse Refractor parallels, 14 Inserts, two Sequentially Numbered base or Rookie parallels, and one autograph or autograph relic. Each case contains two base or Rookie Camo Variations, one Shadow Etch or Chrome Radiating Rookie, and one additional case hit.
