NFL MVP Matthew Stafford stars in new Topps MVP Buyback program
NFL star Matthew Stafford has won a Super Bowl, put together a Hall of Fame career, and is the reigning NFL MVP.
Who would possibly trade away his new Topps Chrome trading cards?
His Aunt Amy, that’s who.
In new ad promoting the release of Topps Chrome Football and Topps’ new NFL MVP Buyback program, Stafford walks into UFC announcer Bruce Buffer's hobby shop It's Time! in Agoura Hills, Calif. and catches his aunt selling all her Matthew Stafford football cards.
“You’re getting rid of my cards,” a shocked Stafford asks.
“I’m redeeming them for store credit. That’s how the buyback works,” Aunt Amy replies. “Oh, I’ll use the store credit to buy the Stafford Chrome Rookie Auto.”

Topps is launching its new MVP Buyback program for Topps Chrome Football, which hits the market April 15. It’s the first licensed Topps Football product since 2015.
Under the program, collectors can redeem their Stafford 2025 Topps Chrome Football cards for hobby store credit, starting at $20 for base cards and up to $200 for higher-level parallels.
“This program has been so well received …we didn’t want to launch Topps Chrome Football without it,” Fanatics Collectibles CEO Mike Mahan said at the Topps Industry Conference. “This year, if you got a Matthew Stafford card, you know what you got!”
