Michael Jordan, LeBron James, current stars highlight eBay auction during NBA Playoffs
With the 2025 NBA Playoffs kicking into high gear, trading cards and collectibles of the top NBA stars are soaring in demand and value.
A 2023-24 Panini Prizm Nebula Choice Prizm #136 Victor Wembanyama Rookie Card (#1/1) recently sold for $860,100—the highest Wemby card sale ever—in the Goldin 100 auction, while a 2003-04 Upper Deck Exquisite Collection Rookie Patch Autograph (RPA) Parallel #78 LeBron James signed Patch Rookie Card sold for $1.22M, the first seven figure sale of the card since 2022. A month later, another copy of the LeBron card sold for $1,159,000.
Wembanyama and Michael Jordan cards have both been in the top three most-searched athletes on eBay from January-March. Even the first official LeBron James Ken doll was in high demand with eBay users searching for the LeBron/Ken doll 1,900 times per hour on April 14, up 140 percent from the previous week.
eBay’s April Marquee Auction series, which runs through May 1, is heavy on NBA stars and legends. Among the highlights are:
• A 2023-24 Anthony Edwards Impeccable Jersey Number Auto (#5/5 IJA-ANT Sealed). Edwards looks to add the Timberwolves to their third Western Conference Finals.
