Rare Jerry West game-worn jersey up for bid at Sotheby’s
NBA players and fans are reminded of Hall of Famer Jerry West every time they take the court or watch a game.
A silhouette of West makes up the famous NBA logo on the court, the ball and on team jerseys. This season, West’s legacy is even more prevalent with each player carrying a commemorative No. 44 band on their jerseys.
Game-worn jerseys donned by West have rarely come to market, but one from his historic 1969-70 season has surfaced at Sotheby’s. It is photo-matched to four games from 1969-70, when West won the league scoring title. It is the only known game-worn jersey photo-matched jersey to West to have ever surfaced on the market.
