Collectors pounce as Wemby weaves his magic in NBA Playoffs
As the NBA playoffs barrels toward the conclusion of the 2025-26 season, we’re struck more than ever by the hoop unicorn named Victor Wembanyama.
The 7-4 center led his San Antonio Spurs to the Western Conference Finals against MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's Oklahoma City Thunder. Wemby had a historic performance in Game 1 with 41 points, 24 rebounds and three blocked shots.
In a first-round win over Portland, Wemby averaged 21 points, nine rebounds and four blocked shots. When the Spurs faced off against Minnesota, he did more of the same, averaging 19.8 points, 12 rebounds and 4.2 blocks.
All the while, basketball collectors kept up a frenzied pursuit of all things Wemby.
