Mile High Card Co.’s July Auction kicks off with the most impressive group of E93 Standard Caramel cards ever offered at auction. Headlined by the only PSA 9 specimens in existence of Ty Cobb, Honus Wagner, Christy Mathewson and Deacon Philippe, 17 of the 30 cards in the E93 series will be presented individually for sale.

The auction is currently live and will conclude July 9 at

Created in 1886 by legendary chocolatier Milton Hershey, the Lancaster Caramel Co. was sold for the staggering sum of $1 million in 1900 and broken into smaller companies, the Standard Caramel Co. among them, with Hershey retaining the rights to one of its subsidiaries: the Hershey Chocolate Co.

Similar to the E98 series made famous by the “Black Swamp Find,” this issue from Standard Caramel is considerably more difficult to find in top condition, according to Mile High. PSA has graded a comparable number from both sets, with the E98 series yielding 64 PSA 9s and 4 PSA 10s compared to just 13 PSA 9s and no PSA 10s from the E93 collection.

In addition to four of the 13 existing Mint cards from the E93 series, PSA 8 examples of Napoleon Lajoie, Eddie Plank, Fred Clarke, Mordecai Brown, Clark Griffith, Jim Pastorius, Harry Covaleski, Jim Delehanty and Hooks Wiltse are joined by PSA 7 offerings of Rube Waddell, Davy Jones, George Gibson and Red Dooin in the Mile High sale.

The E93 cards are just a few of the draws to this auction. Mile High will also offer a 1965 Topps Baseball master set that rates No. 2 on the PSA Set Registry. This will be joined by a 1935 Diamond Stars complete set (No. 9 all-time on the PSA Set Registry) and a 1933 Tattoo Orbit complete set (No. 5 on the PSA Registry).

If you’re into Pete Rose, this is the auction for you. Mile High is offering a Pete Rose collection of cards from 1963-1989 (173 in all), led by a PSA 8.5 example of his famous rookie card.

Graded singles, including many rookies, are likely to set records in this sale, piggybacking the company’s impressive spring auction. Along with a fine selection of graded T206s will be an 1888 N162 Goodwin Champions Cap Anson PSA 6, 1903 Breisch Williams E107 Willie Keeler SGC 2, 1910 T210 Joe Jackson SGC Authentic, 1933 Sport Kings No. 2 Babe Ruth PSA 8, 1939 Play Ball Joe DiMaggio SGC 9, 1951 Parkhurst #66 Gordie Howe PSA 8,1961 Topps Dice Game Don Drysdale PSA 7 and 1965 Topps Joe Namath SGC 8.

Another 1980s beauty is a 1984-85 Star Basketball Michael Jordan autographed card with a PSA 10 designation.
