Historic NBA jerseys, sneakers highlight Goldin’s May auction
With the NBA playoffs in full swing, Goldin Co. is offering some of the most significant and historic game-used NBA memorabilia ever released, including iconic jerseys of Bill Russell, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant and LeBron James.
Goldin Co. Founder and Executive Chairman Ken Goldin previewed some of the items Thursday in New York City.
Goldin’s May Elite Auction opened Thursday and runs through May 21.
The most rare and valuable NBA memorabilia in the auction includes:
• A game-used Michael Jordan Chicago Bulls road jersey photo-matched to the 1997-98 Eastern Conference Finals Games 3 and 4. Current bid: $355,000.
• A game-used, signed Bill Russell Boston Celtics home jersey photo-matched to Game 7 of the 1966 NBA Finals Game 7. Current bid: $290,000.
• A game-used, signed LeBron James Miami Heat road jersey photo-matched to the 2014 NBA Finals Game 1. Current bid: $130,000.
• A game-used Kobe Bryant Los Angeles Lakers road jersey photo-matched to the 2008 NBA Finals Games 1 and 2. Current bid: $125,000.
• A Julius Erving ABA Virginia Squires rookie jersey photo-matched to his 1971-72 debut. Current bid: $55,000.
• A 2008 Bryant photo-matched Team USA blue jersey. Current bid: $49,000.
• A 2002 Jordan-signed Washington Wizards home jersey. Current bid: $43,000.
• A game-used Dwayne Wade Miami Heat home jersey photo-matched to the 2013 NBA Finals Game 2. Current bid: $17,000.
• A pair of Kobe sneakers from the 2009 Western Conference Semifinals Game 4. Current bid: $14,000.
• A pair of game-used, signed and inscribed Nike 10 LeBron James sneakers from Game 5 of the 2013 NBA Eastern Conference Finals. Current bid: $14,000.
• A pair of 1995 Jordan double-signed Nike Air Jordan Sneakers. Current bid: $7,500.
• A game-used, photo-matched Wilt Chamberlain Kansas Jayhawks home jersey.
“It’s really special holding a Kobe Bryant jersey in your hand,” Ken Goldin said. “He was so inspiring to so many people and we’re proud to be handling a small piece of his legacy as part of our auction.
“He, Wilt Chamberlain and Bill Russell are among the greatest to ever lace them up and showing all their jerseys at once makes you feel like you’re in the room with them together. We’re proud to present them as today’s NBA stars vie for a championship.”
Another high-end, iconic piece of memorabilia in the auction is a Sandy Koufax game-used Brooklyn Dodgers road jersey from his 1955 debut season and World Series with a current bid of $550,000.
Among the top NBA cards in the auction are:
• A 2003-04 Topps Chrome Gold Refractor #111 LeBron James rookie card, graded BGS 9.5, with a current bid of $350,000.
• A 2009-10 Panini Absolute Signature Materials NBA Logo #144 Stephen Curry-signed Logoman Patch rookie card, graded PSA 10, with a current bid of $250,000.
• A 2018-19 Panini National Treasures Gold #127 Luka Doncic signed patch rookie card, graded BGS 9.5, with a current bid of $220,000.
• A 1986-87 Fleer #57 Michael Jordan rookie card, graded PSA 10, with a current bid of $190,000.
