The May 8 and May 10 games were Games 3 and 4 of the Lakers’ Western Conference Semifinals matchup with the Utah Jazz, the first playoff games for Bryant. The 18-year-old Lakers star scored 19 points in a 104-84 Lakers victory in Game 3 and scored nine points in a 110-95 Game 4 loss. The Game 4 loss was the final game of Bryant’s rookie season.

The jersey has also been photo-matched to Bryant’s 1997 Skybox Z-Force trading card, which shows the jersey on the back of the card.

SCP estimates the jersey could set a record for a game-worn basketball jersey. The current record is $3.69 million for a Kobe rookie jersey worn during the regular season.
