Joe DiMaggio Jersey Leads $2.65 Million Goldin Auctions Sale
A treasure trove of memorabilia from some of the biggest names in sports, entertainment, politics and American history sold for $2.65 million in the Goldin Auctions 2015 Winter Auction at www.GoldinAuctions.com.
Among the more than 1,000 lots of memorabilia that sold were five lots that surpassed $50,000 including: 1942 Joe DiMaggio jersey for $169,400; a 1920 autographed Chicago White Sox baseball featuring six players banned in the Black Sox scandal, including Joe Jackson, for $81,070; a 1952 Topps Baseball graded near set for $72,600; Al Pacino's 1973 "Serpico" Golden Globe for $62,920; and a 2012 Baltimore Ravens Super Bowl Ring from Jamal Lewis for $50,820.
"This was undoubtedly our most eclectic auction ever with a wide array of sports, entertainment and historical artifacts, and as a result we had more bidders than ever before," said Ken Goldin, founder of Goldin Auctions. "We were thrilled to make these items available to such a wide array of collectors and realize great prices for our consignors."
