Topps honoring LeBron James with special jersey patch cards
Topps is honoring NBA legend LeBron James with a special jersey patch that will make its way into Topps Basketball cards this year.
James, the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, will wear a special jersey patch to commemorate his 23rd NBA season. The Lakers star will wear the colorful patch during the regular season, with the patches eventually being embedded into Topps’ basketball cards.

Topps began producing basketball cards for the first time in 16 years in October with the return of Topps Basketball, followed by the introduction of Topps Chrome Basketball. James signed an exclusive trading card deal with Topps in 2024.
The LeBron patch features a silhouette of James in his pregame chalk toss around a multi-color design honoring the NBA teams he's played for.
After each game, the patch will be removed by the Lakers’ equipment manager and dated. The process will be recorded on video before the card is sent to Topps' production facility in Dallas, where it will be authenticated by CGC and later inserted into a trading card.
The patch is a continuation of Topps’ jersey patch program, which includes its Debut Patches for MLB and NBA rookies, as well as Gold Logoman cards for such NBA awards as MVP, Defensive Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year.
