Sue Bird’s ‘Dream Draft’ of WNBA cards and memorabilia highlight eBay auction
Basketball legend Sue Bird has become synonymous with women’s basketball, winning more college, professional and international championships than most players ever dream of.
Bird, who won two NCAA titles, four WNBA championships and five Olympic gold medals, is widely regarded as one of the greatest female players of all time. She will be inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame later this year and even worked in the front office of the NBA Denver Nuggets for a while.
Yes, Sue Bird knows basketball. And one knows the women’s game better.
Now Bird will put her knowledge to the test as she curates a collection of WNBA cards and memorabilia. The “Sue Bird’s Dream Draft,” a lineup of women’s basketball memorabilia curated by the WNBA legend and being auctioned by eBay, includes memorabilia from such icons as Sheryl Swoopes and Lisa Leslie to breakout stars as Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese. The auction runs from June 10-17.

These pieces aren’t just collectibles—they tell the story of where we’ve been and where we’re headed.”

Powered the popularity of Clark and other young players, eBay has witnessed recent growth of WNBA collectibles. According to eBay, searches for “WNBA” rose 480 percent from January–April 2024 to January–April 2025, while WNBA jersey sales increased by more than 170 percent (2024 vs 2023) and WNBA cards by 650 percent (2020-24).
The top five best-selling active players on eBay in 2024 include: Clark, Reese, Brink, Ionescu, and Aliyah Boston.
Clark has had a huge impact on the WNBA collectibles market, with each of the top 10 highest-selling WNBA cards sold on eBay in 2024, including a 2024–25 Prizm Rookie Autograph Gold /10 that sold for more than $30,000 in February. In March, Goldin, an eBay company, sold one of her cards for $366,000, a record for a women’s sports.
