Upper Deck drops puck on new Tim Hortons Greatest Duos Trading Cards set
Whether you’re a sports fan or not, there are arguably no greater institutions in Canada than hockey, the country’s national game, and the popular Tim Hortons restaurant chain.
The two national institutions go hand in hand. The Tim Hortons restaurant chain was founded by the NHL defenseman who spent most of his 24-year career with the Toronto Maple Leafs and was named one of the 100 Greatest NHL Players in history.
There’s even a Tim Hortons restaurants right outside the Hockey Hall of Fame, which inducted Horton posthumously in 1977, three years after his death in a tragic car accident.
Upper Deck is now bringing the two Canadian institutions together with a new Tim Hortons Greatest Duos Trading Cards set featuring current NHL stars and legends as well as PWHL (Professional Women’s Hockey League).
The set features 180 cards, with each card featuring players who made up iconic duos on the ice, from rink rivals like Connor McDavid and Auston Matthews; rookie connections like Sidney Crosby and Kris Letang; family foundations like Brady and Matthew Tkachuk; and those united in victory like Marie-Philip Poulin and Sarah Nurse.
THE GREAT ONE: NHL legend Wayne Gretzky still a hobby legend
