Super Bowl Champs, Tyson, Abdul-Jabbar, Headline Sun-Times Show
It's time to shake off the winter doldrums, mingle among some fellow sports enthusiastsand grab some sports collectibles along the way. The spring Chicago Sun-Times Show at the Donald E. Stephens Convention center is nearly upon us.
Held Mar. 16-18, the show brings together dealers from across the country and a lengthy list of autograph signers, some at special "roll back" prices. General admission is $10 daily with children 7 & under admitted for $5. Show hours are Friday: 4:30-9 p.m. for general admission; Saturday: 9:30-5 p.m.; and Sunday: 10-4 p.m. Those with VIP passes are admitted a half-hour early each day. VIP packages start at $99.
On Friday, the night is billed as "Hall of Fame Night" with two dozen football Hall of Famers to conduct signings. The list includes Randy White, Fred Dean, Jack Youngblood, James Lofton, Billy Shaw, bobby Mitchell andFred Biletnikoff, among others.
Saturday will include three members of the Super Bowl champion N.Y. Giants: Hakeem Nicks, Mario Manningham and Ahmad Bradshaw. Other stars include Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, John Havlicek, Dennis Rodman, James Worthy, Elgin Baylor, Hope Solo, Mike Tyson and Bobby Hull, among others.
Sunday will feature Barry Larkin, Cal Ripken Jr., Joe Theismann, Calvin Johnson and Frank Thomas, among others.
