Two weeks after being banned from eBay over accusations of shill bidding, PWCC Marketplace has more than $250 million worth of sports cards available for sale in its new Fixed Price Marketplace.

eBay announced on Aug. 18 that it had restricted PWCC, its largest seller of sports cards, over accusations that PWCC associates had engaged in shill bidding, or making fake bids to artificially inflate prices. PWCC, which was later removed from eBay, denied the allegations and threatened legal action against the company.

PWCC is now moving all of its sales to its own platforms. The new Marketplace is available on the company’s website and will be available in the PWCC app later this month. Beginning Wednesday, collectors with cards in PWCC’s vault will be able to list their cards for sale on the new platform.

“Our goal has always been to provide liquidity for trading card collectors and investors,” said Jesse Craig, Director of Business Development for PWCC Marketplace. “We launched the Premier Auction on our website in May and have now added one of our most popular listing channels, the Fixed Price Marketplace, to create another way to buy and sell with PWCC.”

PWCC has more than 50,000 cards totaling more than $250 million in value for sale on the new platform. All registered PWCC users will be able to buy those cards through the new Fixed Marketplace. They can also create watch lists allowing them to be notified if a particular card comes up for sale.

Among the cards currently for sale include:

• A 2017 Immaculate NFL Logo Shield Patrick Mahomes RC Auto Patch 1/1 PSA 8.

PWCC has also launched its September Premier Auction, which will run for 18 days, closing on Sept. 18. The auction includes extended bidding with an accelerated timer and shorter countdown durations the longer the auction continues. PWCC will include live bid updates during the extending bidding period on the header of its website.

Following the shill bidding allegations, PWCC emphasized to customers and collectors that it has procedures in place to prevent shill bidding during auctions on its website.

“PWCC and our staff and affiliates have no visibility into any bidders' maximum bid,” the company says in its Marketplace Tenets. “This information is stored in a third-party service and no one from PWCC or any affiliates of the sellers can view it, by specific design.

“Our Marketplace Trust team is extremely proactive in monitoring bidding. We have placed permanent blocks on any bidder who does not pay.”

Among the items in the September auction are:

• A 2000 Playoff Contenders Championship Ticket Tom Brady Rookie Auto 35/100 BGS 8.5.

• A 2017 National Treasures Holo Gold Patrick Mahomes II RC Patch Auto /10 BGS 9.5.
