PSA expands grading services to Canada, Europe
PSA, the hobby’s leading grading and authentication company, is expanding its footprint in Europe and Canada.
PSA is moving its existing submission center in Halifax, which opened in September 2023, to a larger facility in the greater Toronto area. Its European operations will initially feature the opening of a PSA submission center in Germany.
The new operations will make it easier, faster and more cost effective for collectors in those countries to utilize PSA’s authentication and grading services. Official launch dates for both sites are still being finalized.
“Expanding PSA’s reach globally allows us to foster a stronger connection with new and lifelong hobbyists, ensuring they have the support they need to preserve their cherished items and evolve their individual collections,” said Ryan Hoge, president of PSA. “By establishing these new locations, we’re making it easier than ever for collectors outside the U.S. to access the high standards of service PSA is known for. The success of our ever-growing operation in Japan led us to explore where it makes the most sense for us to next create international footprints.”
PSA opened its first full-scale authentication and grading facility outside of North America in Tokyo, Japan in 2023, six years after opening the first PSA office and submission center in the region. PSA’s international submissions have doubled each year on average over the past five years.
“The surge in international submissions, especially in trading card games (TCG), reflects a broader momentum in the collectible space,” said Ryan Miller, head of international for PSA. “The international collecting community becomes larger every year, and our European and Canadian expansion is a natural next step as our submissions from these regions are on pace to collectively grow by over 50 percent year-over-year.”
With the expansion, collectors in Canada and Europe, will benefit from several streamlined benefits, including quicker submission lead time without having to deal individually with customs, faster turnaround times, plus direct access to PSA staff. All submissions made at the new locations will be securely transported to PSA’s full-scale facilities in the U.S. in Santa Ana, Calif., and Jersey City, N.J.
Both PSA Canada and PSA Europe plan to hire new employees across operations, logistics, marketing and customer success departments.
