Topps Series One, which launched 74 years ago, represents the first in The Topps Flagship Collection, which also includes Series 2 and Update later in the year. 2025 Topps Series One hits hobby shops and retail stores on Feb. 12.
Topps revealed the honor in a special video featuring 2023 NL MVP Ronald Acuna and actor, director/producer and New York superfan Spike Lee.
Topps Series One has historically served as the unofficial start of baseball season, with the cover athlete reserved for baseball’s biggest stars. Current stars Juan Soto (2021), Shohei Ohtani (2022), Julio Rodriguez (2023) and Acuna (2024) have appeared on the Topps Series 1 cover the last four years.
In the video reveal, Judge believed he was about to participate in a photo shoot, but when he arrived, he was guided into a dark set surrounded by panoramic screens. Following a few seconds of confusion, Judge is greeted with a personalized video from Lee, who congratulated him on being chosen for the cover and becoming a “larger than life” figure.
After a look at some of his 2024 highlights, Judge is introduced to the cover for the very first time via a video from Acuna while chants of “Aaron Judge, Aaron Judge” begin to ring out.
The cover image features Judge pointing following one of his big hits.
This marks the 16th time Judge has appeared on the cover of a Topps or Bowman box, including 2024 Topps Big League, 2023 Topps Series 2, and 2022 Topps Heritage, among others.
