NBA gems from iconic UD Exquisite Collection highlight new Fanatics, Sotheby’s auction
Upper Deck’s Exquisite Collection is one of the most coveted and valuable basketball card sets of all time, with rare cards of superstars like Michael Jordan, LeBron James and Kobe Bryant attracting big dollars and setting records.
For its second big auction, Fanatics Collect and Sotheby’s are featuring some of the top cards from the Exquisite Collection and other mid-2000s sets in its December auction, which opens Dec. 5 and runs through Dec. 16.
The Exquisite Capsule Collection includes multiple high-end cards of such NBA legends as Jordan, LeBron, Kobe, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and others.
Highlights include:
• 2006-07 Upper Deck Exquisite Collection Magic Johnson/Larry Bird Dual Logoman Autographs #1/1 (BGS Authentic). Estimated value: $125,000-$150,000.
• 2005-06 Jordan Pippen Rodman Triple Logoman. Estimated value: $700,000-$800,000.
• 2006-07 Kobe & Kareem Dual Logoman. Estimated value: $300,000-$350,000.
• 2009 UD Exquisite James/Jordan Pieces Auto. Estimated value: $225,000-$250,000.
• Carmello/James/Wade Exquisite Triple Logoman. Estimated value: $250,000-$275,000.
• Jordan/James Dual Patch UD Black. Estimated value: $275,000-$300,000.
• LeBron 1/1 Exquisite Quad Patch. Estimated value: $60,000-$80,000.
• 2003-04 Upper Deck SP Authentic LeBron James Autograph SP Limited Rookie Authentics #148 #44/50 (BGS 9/10 Auto). Estimated value: $30,000-$50,000.
