Mike Trout, Paul Skenes, Jayden Daniels and other big stars help kids, collectors celebrate Topps Rip Night
At Rizzo Sports in Riverside, Calif., Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels entered the hobby shop to chants of “M-V-P, M-V-P.”
Across the country, at Blue Breaks in Sarasota, Fla., more than 800 people attended Topps Rip Night, with the shop filled to capacity three hours before MLB stars Paul Skenes, Jackson Holliday and Adley Rutschman arrived. When the players arrived, they tossed packs of cards into the crowd, stole young collector’s phones to make personal videos, and exchanged autographed cards with each other.
In New York City, at Dave & Adams in the Empire State Building, New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers was joined by Red Sox legend David Ortiz and Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin.

At DNA Cards in Phoenix, MLB star Mike Trout personally bought Topps Series One boxes for every collector in the crowd of 200, while across town at Sports N Cards in Youngtown, Ariz., rookie Jac Caglianone stayed for three hours to sign every attendees’ cards, balls, jerseys, and Rip Night foam fingers.
And at Layton Cards in Orlando, WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton posed with her championship belt, and then pulled her own trading card.
More than 70,000 fans, card collectors and hobbyists descended upon more than 615 hobby shops in 16 countries across the globe for Topps Rip Night on Feb. 22.
At hobby shops from Florida to California, kids and collectors met and interacted with their sports heroes, who took photos, participated in Q&As, and traded cards from their personal collections. Hobbyists of all ages shared their love for sports cards and memorabilia and were treated to pack wars, trivia and other in-store games, as well as special giveaways, including exclusive Topps Rip Night packs.
Rubin and Fanatics Collectibles CEO Mike Mahan were joined by more than 110 athletes and entertainers at hobby shops across the country.
