NBA legend Michael Jordan famously halted his illustrious career after winning his sixth NBA championship with the Chicago Bulls in the 1998 NBA Finals.

In Jordan’s final season before retiring for three years (he returned to play two more seasons for the Washington Wizards in 2001-02 and 2002-03), the Bulls defeated the Utah Jazz 4 games to 2 to win their sixth NBA championship since 1991. The Bulls won two of the four games at the United Center in Chicago.

The home white trunks Jordan wore during the three games in Chicago are coming up for bid soon in the Fall Premier Auction at SCP Auctions. Bidding opens on Nov. 6 and runs through Nov. 23.

The trunks have been photo-matched by both MeiGray and Sports Investors to Games 3, 4 and 5 of the NBA Finals in Chicago. Jordan scored 24, 34 and 28 points, respectively, in the three games as the Bulls won Games 3 and 4 before losing Game 5, and then closing out the series in Game 6 in Utah.

The white shorts are the only ones Jordan wore in the three games in Chicago, making them the last home trunks he ever wore as a member of the Bulls. The shorts have a pre-auction estimate of $500,000 and SCP believes they will set a record for game-worn basketball shorts.

Jordan game-worn memorabilia has sold for six-figure prices over the years, including a game-worn jersey from Game 1 of the 1998 NBA Finals that sold for a then-record $10 million at Sotheby’s in 2022. A collection of six sneakers Jordan wore during the 1998 NBA Finals sold for $8 million earlier this year at Sotheby’s.
