LeBron, Tom Brady and Caitlin Clark cards highlight Goldin Elite Auction

Goldin’s September Elite Auction features cards and memorabilia from some of the biggest names in sports, from former stars LeBron James and Tom Brady to current stars Paul Skenes and Caitlin Clark.

The auction, which runs through Sept. 28, is highlighted by a 2004-05 Upper Deck Ultimate Collection Signatures Logos #USL-LJ LeBron James signed, game-used Logoman Patch Card. The #1/1 card is graded PSA Authentic with a PSA/DNA GEM MT 10 autograph. It has a current bid of $300,000.

Also highlighted is a 2000 Playoff Contenders Championship Ticket Autograph #144 Tom Brady signed Rookie Card. Graded BGS NM-MT 8 with a Beckett 10 autograph. One of only 100 copies, it has a current bid of $150,000.

New Releases: New football cards hit market for 2024 season

Among the top vintage cards is a 1979 O-Pee-Chee #18 Wayne Gretzky Rookie Card. Graded PSA MINT 9, it has a current bid of $85,000. Of the more than 12,700 copies, only two of have been graded higher.

Among memorabilia up for bid is a pair of Michael Jordan game-used sneakers. The Nike Air Jordan VIII Playoff PE Sneakers are photo-matched to Jordan’s Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals on June 4, 1993. Jordan scored 25 points in a win over the Knicks and averaged 32.2 pints in the series. The sneakers have a current bid of $51,000.

Another #1/1 NBA card that could attract big dollars is a 2024 Topps Now Olympic Gold #26 Stephen Curry/LeBron James/Kevin Durant card. Encased by Topps, the card has a current bid of $24,000.

The top modern cards include:

• A 2023 Bowman Chrome Draft Prospect Autographs SuperFractor #CDA-PS Paul Skenes signed Rookie Card. The #1/1 card of the Pirates ace is graded PSA NM 7, with a PSA/DNA GEM MT 10 autograph. It has a current bid of $36,000.

• A pair of 2024 Panini Instant WNBA Draft Night Autographed Rookie cards of Caitlin Clark/Angel Reese. The two cards of the WNBA stars are both #/99 cards and graded PSA GEM MT 10. They have a current bid of $9,500.
