LeBron vs. Steph Curry: Who has the most valuable game-worn jersey?
When the Los Angeles Lakers and the Golden State Warriors meet tonight to kick off the 2022-23 NBA season, it will feature a rematch of the league’s two biggest stars — LeBron James and Steph Curry.
The two superstars have each won four NBA championships, while LeBron has four league MVPs to Curry’s two.
But which one has the most valuable game-worn jersey?
Both have had game-worn jerseys sell for six figures recently, but the memorabilia battle rages on.
PWCC Marketplace has LeBron and Curry jerseys in its October Premier Auction that could test the market for game-worn NBA jerseys.
LeBron’s 2016-17 Cleveland Cavaliers jersey is from the year the Cavs reached the NBA Finals, losing to Curry's Warriors in five games.
Purchased and authenticated through the NBA & MeiGray Group Game-Worn Jersey Authentication Program, the jersey is certified to have been worn by James during Cleveland’s Dec. 13, 2016 game against Memphis. It has a current bid of $23,000.
Curry’s 2021-22 Golden State jersey is from the Warriors’ most recent championship season.
It also has been authenticated by the MeiGray and the NBA and was worn by Curry on Oct. 26, 2021 against Oklahoma City. It has a current bid of $17,000.
Bidding on both items ends on Oct. 20.
Heritage Auctions also has two LeBron jerseys in its current auction, including a 2004 signed Olympic jersey.
