LeBron jersey from 2013 NBA Finals sells for $3.68 million
LeBron admits he was nervous going into Game 7 of the 2013 NBA Finals, his first Game 7 championship moment.
“A lot of thoughts going through the mind,” he said before the game. “That’s what I’m here for, to win championships. I’ve got a great opportunity tonight.”
LeBron delivered, scoring 37 points and grabbing 13 rebounds to lead the Miami Heat to its second straight NBA championship.
It was one of his most memorable moments, cementing his status as one of the all-time greats. James has won four NBA championships and four NBA Finals MVP awards. With the 2013 title, he joined Bill Russell and Michael Jordan as the only players to win back-to-back MVPs and NBA titles.
The jersey James wore in the first half that of Game 7 is now part of history as well, selling for a record $3.68 million in an auction at Sotheby’s.
The game-worn home jersey sold for nearly six times more than the previous highest-selling James jersey ($630,000 in 2020) and was the third highest-selling NBA jersey ever.
Michael Jordan’s “Last Dance” jersey sold for a record $10 million at Sotheby’s last year.
James’ Upper Deck Exquisite Rookie Patch Auto card is the highest-selling NBA card of all-time, selling for $5.2 million in 2021.
