Jasson Dominguez cards command big dollars, eBay sellers set astronomical prices for Yankees rookie
If you bought into the advance hype over Yankees outfielder Jasson Dominguez in 2023 and ’24, you likely have been disappointed so far.
He fast-tracked his way to the majors at age 20 in 2023 and landed with a splash, hitting four homers in only 31 at-bats as a 20-year-old. But an arm injury late that season—and subsequent Tommy John surgery—caused a late start for the switch-hitting phenom in 2024.

The man they call “The Martian” finally got back on the field in late May 2024 and wound up hitting .314 along three minor-league stops. The Yankees beckoned him in August and handed him the left-field job, only to see him flounder—badly. He hit an anemic .179 while looking lost in the outfield. When the 2024 playoffs started, Dominguez’s left-field job had been returned to Alex Verdugo, who was not resigned during the offseason.
Yet collectors still believe. Perhaps buoyed by a more confident Dominguez in spring training this season, bidders have been going all-out for items featuring Dominguez. As a prime example, a 2024 Topps Chrome Sapphire Refractor signed by Dominguez sold in March for $15,100 on 46 bids. The #1/1 card was graded BGS 9.5.
Another example sold for even more. An autographed #1/1 Dominguez Topps Chrome Sapphire Selections card, also from 2024, brought $20,000 in a Buy It Now Deal.
Bidders showed a little more restraint when a seller listed a slightly less scarce 2024 Topps Chrome Sapphire. This one, marked #2/5 and graded PSA 10, sold for $4,050 on 36 bids.
eBay sellers have taken the hint. They’re listing early Dominguez rarities, issued in 2020, at astronomical prices in Buy It Now offerings:
• One longtime seller has listed a 2020 Bowman Chrome signed Orange Sapphire card (marked #2/25 and graded PSA 10) for $110,000.
• Another is asking $125,000 for an ungraded 2020 Panini National Treasures card marked #1/1.
• Topping both of those is still another seller’s listing of a 2020 Bowman 1st Edition Red Foil card. Marked #2/5 and graded PSA 9, it’s available for the celestial asking price of $249,000—or best offer.
Several other 2020 Dominguez cards appear in eBay listings for prices between $80,000 and $100,000. Only time will tell whether buyers bite or bypass such offers.
