Freddie Freeman’s historic World Series grand-slam ball coming to auction at SCP
Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman delivered one of the most dramatic moments in World Series history in Game 1 of the Fall Classic, belting a 10th-inning, walk-off grand slam to give Los Angeles a 6-3 win and help spark the Dodgers to the 2024 World Championship.
Freeman hit home runs in four straight World Series games—and six straight, dating back to 2021—to earn World Series MVP as the Dodgers beat the Yankees four games to one.
The baseball Freeman hit for the first walk-off grand slam in World Series history is coming to auction in a special December Dynasty Auction at SCP Auctions.

Many Dodgers fans compared Freeman’s grand slam to the walk-off homer Kirk Gibson hit for the Dodgers in Game 1 of the 1988 World Series. Like Gibson, Freeman was playing with an injury, with his right ankle heavily taped and hurting throughout the World Series.
“That's as good as it gets right there,” Freeman said.
“It might be the greatest baseball moment I've ever witnessed,” said Dodgers manager Dave Roberts. “And I've witnessed some great ones.”
Freeman’s grand slam ball was retrieved by 10-year-old Dodgers fan Zachary Ruderman. On the day of Game 1, his parents told him he was leaving school early to get his braces removed. To his surprise, they headed to Dodger Stadium, where he received the gift of a lifetime. When the ball landed at Zachary’s feet, he batted it to his dad, Nico, who jumped on it ahead of several other fans scrambling after it.

The ball is set to hit the auction block on the heels of the record-breaking sale of Shohei Ohtani’s 50th home run ball that sold for $4.3 million last month at Goldin Co. SCP believes the Freeman ball is also worth seven figures.
“We’re honored to handle this baseball memento from a moment that will forever be remembered in sports history,” SCP Auctions President David Kohler said.
The consignment deadline for the special auction is Nov. 27. The auction will open Dec. 4 and run through Dec. 14.
