Collectable hires former PSA CEO, longtime collector Joe Orlando

Collectable, one of the hobby’s leading investment platforms, has hired former PSA CEO Joe Orlando as its new President, Sports.

Prior to joining Collectable, Orlando was the President and CEO of Collectors Universe, the parent company of PSA, and helped make PSA the industry's leading authentication and grading company.

Orlando is considered one of the leading experts and executives in sports memorabilia and will play a pivotal role in the continued growth of Collectable.

“It is an honor and a privilege to be joining the team at Collectable,” Orlando said in a release from the company. “Collectable has quickly established itself as the leading fractional platform in the sports collectibles industry. While their results speak for themselves, this is just the beginning.

“The hobby is evolving quickly, with a large number of new participants and innovations. Collectable is in a leading position to facilitate growth for the market by serving as a crucial first-entry point for many new to the hobby, while also providing additional and alternative opportunities for long-time collectors. Orlando also has been a collector of sports cards and memorabilia for more than 35 years and has been intrigued by the development of fractional ownership, one of the easiest and most affordable entries into sports collectibles for both buyers and sellers.

Orlando has authored several collecting guides and hundreds of articles for PSA and Collectors Universe. He also has authored and contributed to numerous collectibles books. Part of his role with Collectable will be to produce foundational and educational content on the platform and help Collectable expand its capabilities.
