Beckett adding grading, authentication for sports and event tickets
Beckett has expanded its grading and authentication services to include tickets from sporting events, concerts and other live events.
The new service began Monday. Beckett’s first ticket customer was Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons, who stopped by Beckett headquarters in Dallas last month with two signed Aaron Judge ticket stubs from the game in which Judge broke the AL home run record with his 62nd home run last year.
“We’re excited to grade and authenticate tickets for the collector community; this is something we’ve seen a real demand for,” Beckett Collectibles CEO Kunal Chopra said. “Beckett is excited to honor the memories of all the incredible games, concerts and events our collectors have been to. Whether it's autographed tickets or VIP stubs, these are the historic experiences we can help people to cherish, trade and collect through their lives.”
Ticket authentication and grading adds to Beckett’s line of services that include grading and authentication of sports cards, non-sports trading cards, trading game cards, comic books and celebrity autographs, as well as other collectible media like VHS.
Beckett has hired Steve Lee as the head of its ticket grading operations. Lee has been an active figure in the hobby for decades, with over 30 years of experience as both a collector and grader of cards and tickets.
Signed and unsigned tickets can be submitted by mail or physical drop-off at Beckett’s Plano, Texas location with a turnaround time of about 30 business days. Grading is optional for collectors who only want lower-cost encapsulation and authentication.
