1960 Topps Mickey Mantle card highlights REA auction
Mickey Mantle had so many great seasons, some of them get lost in the shuffle and the annals of history.
One of them was 1960, when the Yankees slugger led the American League with 40 home runs, 119 runs scored and a .957 OPS while finishing second in AL MVP voting.
Mantle’s 1960 Topps card, one of his finest, was the top seller in REA’s February Auction. The 1960 Topps #350 Mickey Mantle (PSA 8.5) sold for $27,600.

A 1957 Topps #95 Mickey Mantle (SGC 8) also attracted a nice price, selling for $9,000.
The other auction highlight was a 1986-1987 Fleer Basketball complete set (PSA 8) that includes the iconic Michael Jordan rookie card, which sold for $13,800.
The auction included more than 2,500 items and generated nearly 58,000 bids.
“This was an incredibly diverse offering coming on the heels of one of our largest monthly auctions ever, and we were extremely happy with the strong results throughout,” REA President Brian Dwyer said. “Many of the top sellers were the biggest names within the hobby, and it was nice to see basketball and hockey represented in addition to many classic vintage baseball cards.”
