Officials from the National Sports Collectors Convention announced the postponement of the show this summer in Atlantic City with tentative plans to reschedule it for Dec. 12-16.

The National was scheduled for July 29-Aug. 2, but due to COVID-19 the organizers decided the dates were “no longer appropriate.” Originally, officials were going to wait until May 30 to make a decision but made it sooner.

“We have been closely monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic situation with our partners along with city and state officials. It has become clear postponement is the appropriate course of action,” said John Broggi, NSCC Show Promoter. “We have tentative plans to hold the National December 12-16, 2020, at the Atlantic City Convention Center, given state and federal guidelines indicate it is safe to hold our event.”

If it is not deemed safe to hold the event by the end of the year, officials will cancel the 2020 National and begin planning for the 2021 National in Chicago.

Promotors will monitor the situation and make a decision by the middle of September.

The Chicago 2021 event is scheduled for July 28-Aug. 1.

“It was a very difficult decision to postpone the 41st National, but we feel it is the right decision given the number of critical unanswered questions and uncertainty concerning the impact of the COVID-19 crisis," said Dan Berkus, NSCC Show Promoter.
