Babe Ruth rookie, high-end basketball cards headline Goldin Winter 100 Auction
Goldin’s 2026 Winter 100 Auction features 100 handpicked, high-end collectibles from the worlds of sports, entertainment and pop culture.
Few trading cards fit that description better than the iconic 1916 Babe Ruth rookie card.
The auction, which runs through March 7, is headlined by a 1916 M101-5 Sporting News Babe Ruth blank-back rookie card, one of the oldest and most coveted vintage sports cards in the hobby. The card is graded PSA 7, with only three graded higher. It already has a bid of $760,000. The most recent sale of a PSA 7 was $384,000.

Other auction highlights include a 1/1 2025-26 Topps Chrome Autographs Victor Wembanyama Superfractor. The card has a current bid of $120,000.
Other basketball highlights include: a 1/1 2025-26 Topps Chrome Sapphire Autographs Padparadscha Cooper Flagg signed rookie card; a 2024-25 Panini National Treasures Stephen Curry Logoman Auto; a 2009-10 Upper Deck Exquisite Michael Jordan signed game-used patch card; and a 1980-81 Topps Scoring Leader card showcasing Larry Bird, Julius Erving and Magic Johnson.
The top football card is another one of the most coveted cards in the hobby—a signed 2000 Playoff Contenders Championship Ticket Tom Brady rookie card graded BGS 9 with a 10 autograph. It has a current bid of $220,000.
Top baseball items include a signed 2018 Bowman Chrome Shohei Ohtani Gold Refractor rookie card and a signed, game-used Paul Skenes Pittsburgh Pirates alternate jersey from his NL Rookie of the Year season.
Rounding out the auction is one of the earliest known game-used soccer jerseys connected to Lionel Messi, dating to his childhood years in Argentina.
