The current auction hosted by Clean Sweep Auctions [www.csauctions.com] is among the most diverse it has ever offered.

Baseball autographs lead the way. Several signed baseball letters are featured, including Cap Anson, Eddie Collins (from 1910), Charles Comiskey (from 1919) and Walter Johnson (from 1928). Autographed 3x5s and related items are included from players such as Grover Cleveland Alexander, Abner Doubleday, Jimmie Foxx (Mint 9), Babe Ruth, Honus Wagner and Cy Young.

Other special items in this category include a 1925 Walter Beall signed player contract, a 1958 Yogi Berra player contract and a Babe Ruth signed check. Three Roberto Clemente signed items include: a 1968 Dexter Press postcard, a photo of Clemente signing an autograph, and a single signed ball.

Other items available include: 1933 World Series signed program, a 1955 Brooklyn Dodgers signed greeting card, and a 1956 Brooklyn Dodgers Tour of Japan signed team sheet.

Signed baseballs include a high grade Ty Cobb single signed baseball, a Satchel Paige signed baseball, a Cobb/Speaker signed ball, a Cy Young/Mickey Mantle signed baseball, a 1928 Cardinals team ball, a 1936 Yankees team ball, a 1955 Yankees team ball and several 1970s Yankees and All Star balls with real Thurman Munson signatures.

Baseball cards are of course a huge part of the auction. There is a good selection of collector grade sets from 1948 through 1972, several very high grade partial sets from the 1950s and 1960s, and master sets with full variation runs from 1957, 1958 and 1969 among others.

Single baseball card items include: a Dog’s Head Old Judge Cabinet card, fresh run of W601 Premiums with all key teams, 1939 Play Ball Moe Berg Mint 9, 1952 Topps Willie Mays PSA 7, 1953 Topps Mickey Mantle PSA 5.5, 1954 Topps Banks PSA 7, 1955 Topps Killebrew RC PSA 8, 1960 Topps Musial PSA 9, 1964 Topps Koufax SGC 10 and 1969 Topps White Letter Mantle PSA 8.

The auction features one of the largest offerings of Presidential and historical autographs, with Presidents going back to James Monroe. More highlights include a Ulysses Grant letter, two Teddy Roosevelt signed items, checks signed by JFK and Marilyn Monroe, a Simon Bolivar document, and Winston Churchill signed letterhead. Collectors of vintage Hollywood will have a field day here, with 300 different lots, almost entirely from a signed-owner collection.

Non-Sports cards include a partial 1938 G-Men set, a near-set of 1938 Horrors of War, and a 1962 Mars Attacks set.

Basketball collectors will see some good 1957-58 Topps and 1961-62 Fleer lots, a high grade Jerry West Rookie, two 1969-70 sets, a Pete Maravich Rookie PSA 8, and a Jordan Rookie SGC 8.5. Autographs include a James Naismith autograph, two rare 1970s team balls and a pair of Michael Jordan signed pieces.

Football is also well represented. Available are complete card sets from 1948-1976, some with very high grade cards; a 1982 Topps sealed wax case; autographs including a Goal Line Alex Wojciechowicz; a signed Bill Belichick Rookie card, a 1965 Chicago Bears team ball with a Rookie Gale Sayers; and a Jim Thorpe signed 1951 World Series ticket, among other treasures.

Hockey collectors will see a 1963-64 Parkhurst set, the No. 1 set on the SGC registry and Bobby Hull’s Canadian passport among other items.

The auction concludes with more baseball items. Bats are available, including a 1996 Yankees team signed bat, HOFer signed bats, a Mint 9 Wade Boggs Yankees gamer, a Negro League Reunion signed bat from 1984, and an Alex Rodriguez 2007 gamer.

Also available are two 1918 tickets: Babe Ruth and Jim Thorpe hit games, and an 1866 Trophy Bat that is completely fresh to the hobby. Available rings include a 1947 Brooklyn, 1979 Baltimore and Reggie Jackson and George Scott MLB Alumni rings.

The final lot in the auction is a Yankee Stadium game-used home plate from 2008, signed by the Core Four and two others.
