The new location is less than 30 minutes from the show’s longtime home in Strongsville and closer to downtown Cleveland, making the show easier to reach for collectors across Ohio and the surrounding region.
“This is still the Strongsville show collectors know and trust,” said Show Production Manager Steve Menzie. “We’re less than half an hour from our original location, but much closer to Cleveland. That convenience, combined with a larger and more modern facility and more nearby quality hotel options, allows us to grow the show without changing what makes it special.”
Founded in 1978, the Strongsville Sports Collectors Convention is the longest-running vintage sports cards and memorabilia show in the world, according to the show promoters.
Under the new format, the Strongsville show and the Great Lakes Collectors Convention will operate as distinct spaces within the same facility. The Strongsville show will continue to feature vintage sports cards and memorabilia, while the Great Lakes event will focus on modern cards and trading card games.
The two conventions will offer one main entrance and a single admission granting access to both event halls.
“Collectors are getting more value with less hassle,” said Laura Dreyfus, general manager for the Strongsville Sports Collectors Convention. “The new location is easier to get to, easier to navigate, and allows us to bring more dealers and more inventory together in one place—while maintaining the Strongsville experience that collectors and dealers have grown to love.”
Improvements with the new venue include more parking, wider aisles, improved traffic flow, and a cleaner, brighter and more modern environment that is more than twice the size of the previous facility.
“It’s the same show at its core,” Menzie said. “Same management, same standards, same commitment to vintage collectors—just on a bigger stage that’s easier for more people to reach.”
