There are few players in NBA history who stir the emotions of fans and collectors like Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant.
PWCC Marketplace has a Jordan/Kobe card in its February Premier Auction that is sure to stir the imagination of sports card collectors.
The 2000 Upper Deck Game Jerseys Combo Michael Jordan & Kobe Bryant is a dual-signed card that features a uniform patch from both players. Graded BGS 8, it is the first dual autographed patch card of Jordan and Bryant, with only 10 in existence.
“While the allure of having Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant autographs and game-used jerseys on a card together is obvious, this card can also be viewed as a piece of art and history that is woven together by two of the unquestionable greats to play the game of basketball,” says Jesse Craig, director of business development for PWCC Marketplace. “You can look beyond just the obvious elements here and appreciate the commitment to artistic design. The on-card imagery is chosen to intentionally tell a story of greatness and aspiration.”
Jordan was retired for the second time during the 2000 season before returning with the Washington Wizards in 2001. Bryant, meanwhile, was in his fifth NBA season, averaging 28.5 points per game for the LA Lakers.
“This was in 2000, before Kobe became the legend he is today. The result of his impressive career now makes this asset an incredible collectors’ piece,” Craig said. “It is a rare issue and definitely a grail-worthy offering.”
PWCC also has another impressive Kobe card in the auction. The 2003 Exquisite Collection Limited Logos Kobe Bryant Patch Auto card is numbered #1/75 and graded PSA 10. Upper Deck released its Exquisite line in 2003 with some innovative new designs, with the Limited Logos cards becoming one of its most popular inserts.
PWCC also has two impressive high-end baseball cards:
• A 2009 Bowman Chrome Gold Refractor Mike Trout Rookie Auto, /50, graded PSA 10.
• A 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle #311, graded SGC 7.
The PWCC February Auction closes on Saturday, Feb. 19.
