While the U.S. sports collectibles community eagerly anticipates the National Sports Collectors Convention each year and the annual Toronto Sports Card Expo draws a big crowd in Canada, the London Card Show attracts sports collectors from across the UK and Europe.

Winner of the 2022-23 UK Card Show of the Year, the London Card Show returns for its 10th event Nov. 25-26 at the Sandown Park Racecourse.

With the trading card market growing into a billion-dollar industry during and after the pandemic, eBay reported a 113 percent spike in card sales in Europe in 2021. The growing market of collectors, traders and gamers has helped make the London Card Show a big event, just like The National and the Toronto Expo.

“We've had an incredible response from the trading card community, of which sports collectors play a massive part,” said Harry Reynolds, founder and CEO of the London Card Show. “And we haven't even scratched the surface of what we can do with the London Card Show .... the sky truly is the limit.”

The London Card Show was started by Reynolds, who began collecting trading cards while in college. His YouTube live streams and TikTok presence launched him into the UK card community, where he earned recognition for his unique trading card mystery box breaks.

Reynolds started the London show in 2021 with just 10 tables and 40 attendees. Just two years later, it attracted more than 3,000 attendees. It is expecting more than 4,000 for its 10th show in late November.

In addition to sports and non-sports cards, the November show will also feature a VR Zone, creator studio, kid’s zone and other family-friendly events. The live stage will feature interviews, box breaks, raffles, special guests and other activities from event sponsors like Topps, PSA and Whatnot.
