LeBron Triple Logoman ‘masterpiece’ expected to break sports card record at Goldin
A special one-of-a-kind LeBron James Triple Logoman card coming to auction at Goldin Co. is expected to become the highest-selling sports card of all time.
The card, which features three NBA logo patches taken from jerseys worn by LeBron over the years, will be up for bid at Goldin beginning on June 8. According to Goldin, which was selected to handle the exclusive sale, it is widely considered the most desirable and valuable modern sports card in existence.
A T206 Honus Wagner card, which sold for $6.6 million last year, is currently the highest-selling sports card of all-time. A LeBron James rookie card and a 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle card are tied for second at $5.2 million.
Goldin Founder and Executive Chairman Ken Goldin will display the LeBron Triple Logoman card during a media event at the Little Owl the Townhouse in New York City Tuesday from 4-6 p.m.
"The LeBron James Triple Logoman card is the undisputed holy grail of modern cards,” Goldin said. “For months, collectors have clamored to claim this uniquely alluring masterpiece and for card collectors, there have been a small handful of cards that are considered the pièce de résistance of the hobby. We are truly proud to offer this item.”
The 1-of-1 Panini Flawless Triple Logoman was discovered during a live event on social media in what many are calling the greatest on-camera card pull of all time. The card was found after a year-long hunt that captivated the hobby and saw collectors searching far and wide for the coveted item.
The card features NBA logo patches taken from LeBron jerseys he wore for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat and Los Angeles Lakers. Panini created only five Triple Logoman cards as part of its 2020-21 Flawless collection, but only the LeBron card features patches from a single player.
Goldin has brokered the sale of multiple record-breaking, seven-figure sales of LeBron cards over the past few years. The Triple Logoman will be available during Goldin’s June Elite Auction, which opens on June 8.
