The Super Bowl Card Show will again be a part of the upcoming NFL Experience event in Tampa. But this time, it will have a new sponsor.
Donruss has assumed the title sponsorship of this year’s event, which takes place Jan. 24-25, and Jan. 29-31 adjacent to Raymond James Stadium.
“We are excited to have Donruss on board as a title sponsor at this year’s Trading Card Show at NFL Experience,” said Rich Seidlitz, the director of consumer products for the NFL. “This is great exposure for the category and a creative way for Donruss to get its brand out in front of millions of NFL fans.”
The agreement also gives the card company access to officially licensed Super Bowl XLIII memorabilia, including game-used footballs, end zone pylons and ticket stubs, that will be incorporated into future trading card programs. The agreement also includes a sponsorship at this year’s Pro Bowl and the exclusive designation as the “Official Trading Card of the 2009 NFL Draft.” Specific details on Donruss’ plans for these events will be released in the coming weeks, but the agreement will grant Donruss access to additional game-used memorabilia and unique photo opportunities at both events.
“Being a title sponsor at an NFL signature event takes our marketing efforts to another level,” said Mike Anderson, VP of sales and marketing for
Donruss. “By adding in sponsorships at the Pro Bowl and NFL Draft, we hope to expose an entirely new audience to the Donruss brand.”
Topps had been the sponsor of the Super Bowl Card Show since 1999.
